Both Tandy and Tyrone are living their lives separately while having the power of seeing other people's hopes and fears. When meeting at a party they notice when they touch "Shit goes boom".
Realizing they both are going through the same thing they work together and figure out more about what's happening to them, in doing so they gain issues in both of their "relationships".
