It is late, nearly midnight, the day after Christmas.

Remus gets kicked out by his abusive wife, and finds Y/N being abused by her boyfriend at a gas station. He takes her to his best friend's house, where he usually crashes when he and Tonks fight. He stays there with her until the next full moon.

The full moon happens, and he wakes up naked next to her, finding they have bites and scratches all over the both of them. He realizes he claimed this woman as his mate, and now is torn between the two women. Should he leave his pregnant wife, and be happy with his mate, or should he stay, and be abused more?

Sirius and Moody did not die in this fic.
Tonks is abusive.
Y/N's pronouns are she/her. She is a werewolf.

When Remus was laying in bed, Sirius wanted to crawl in too; every time Sirius sat next to Remus, he had to constantly remind himself not to run his hand over Remus' thigh; Sirius wished he could slip his cold hands under Remus' thick sweater and finger every scar that littered Remus' pale skin; Sirius wanted to caress every part of Remus' face as if he could memorize it by touch; and Sirius really wanted to know what the soft skin on Remus' neck felt like under his lips, Sirius wondered if Remus was as susceptible to love bites as he was.
