Cain Ross's life was a simple, one step plan.
Kill monsters.
His burning hate for them, ever since they appeared in his world, since they took his sister, kept him on a bloody killing spree for months, earning him numerous morbid titles. Monsters and humans fear him equally.
When he is bitten and turned by one of his mortal enemies, his whole life is changed. Now split in two, both a hateful monster-hunter and a bloodthirsty monster, he is left to grapple alone with the sudden changes overwhelming him.
Facing down the worst the night has to throw at him, he searches for answers that may be his salvation or damnation. Loved ones turn on him, enemies become friends and his whole life is flipped upside down.
If he doesn't reconcile his personalities soon enough, he will fully become one or the other and he will prey on either monsters or humans.
One thing is sure... the world will know his name when he releases the one within.
