Lily and Dylan were inseparable, they were best friends if you'd like from birth. Lily's mom and Dylan's mom were childhood best friends, and just so happened to give birth on the same day.
When Lily was 5 her mom died in a car accident and she was left with her drunk of a father and when Lily was just 10 years old, the person who helped her cope with it all, Dylan, moved away without a word and hasn't spoken to her since.
He was the one who would defend her in the school yard, the one who was always there to help her through tough times, but since he's been gone Lily's life changed drastically.
So when Dylan suddenly shows up at school 8 years later, Lily doesn't know what to do, especially since he is no longer the sweet, innocent and caring boy he once was. Instead he has become a player, a stereotypical 'bad boy' and has every girl wrapped around his finger, except Lily.

Why did he come back? And will Lily fall for his charms or will she leave him heart broken just as he did her?

Many bad memories cause her to be the way she is. She desperately wants to forget her past, including some bad things she experienced, but the memories stay stuck in her mind. Dylan has three best friends who help her get by. The only three people she 100% trust and doesn't like to. They all have their own problems and lies they tell, but they help each other through it all. Especially her boyfriend Vince, who would do absolutely anything for her. He would die a thousand times over before anyone hurt Dylan. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "Dylan's not just my whole life, she makes my life whole. Some days she's the only reason I get out of bed. Without her in my life there is no point in living. She's like the air I breathe. Without her I can't live. She's my best friend and I will love her to the day I die." ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ This summer Dylan gets the opportunity to do what every guidance counselor has claimed she's always wanted to do . . . split up her family.
