Desertified land, drought, and the shortage of crops and farm animals led the hunters of Linden's Island to take desperate measures to survive: training bears like hunting dogs. However, as the food crisis wanes, the hunters face an unexpected rebellion: from the prey themselves. A fiesty red squirrel named Lindsey and his misfit gang of differing species travel around the island, working to free the bears from human control and restore the natural order. Soon, the hunters and Lindsey's gang find themselves in a struggle for power. Lindsey believes in his own victory, but as the bears begin to reap the benefits of domesticated life, limited time remains for the island to become truly free.

Within the land known as the 'feral plain', there lives a family of creatures, all together in a large mansion that was built from the ground up by their proud leader/creator, Rebecca. Throughout the years that they have known each other and lived in peace, Rebecca makes the one mistake to try and let people from another world, known as 'the reality plain' live with them. This ends terribly with mistrust, heartbreak and even the want for murder as tensions rise. Robin, a close friend, and companion of Rebecca, blames the creatures of the house for the betrayal of the humans from the 'reality plain' and declares war against them.
