Rowan and Caden have been bestfriends since they were children, growing up together, and sharing their dreams with each other. Magic is real, fate is a tricky mistress, and love cannot always conquer all.
This short story is not set in any time or place or universe, it is simply about love, sacrifice, and fate.
This was written after I read a reddit story 'prompt' which was inspired by a game of D&D.
It is told non-linearly so there's not really a time line other than the general past/flashbacks. I purposely chose to tell this story in small scenes and short paragraphs so that reader's could imagine details and small stories between the character's for themselves.

As they get to know each other and heal, they start to realize there's something meaningful in living itself. There's more than just living. ** I love when characters get hurt or have illness and all that...hehe so there will be a lot of physical, emotional injuries and healing&bonding( right from the start! ). About updates, I wish I could say I will be posting at least once a day but I know that won't be true because I'm currently editing my book that I am publishing this summer (2020) and this story is more of just a de-stressor (is that a word) so the grammar and writing, especially the tense (it will most likely flip between present and past tense, just pretend it is all the same) might not be perfect, but I just felt like writing it.
