Elise is not a shy girl when it comes to boys. After her boyfriend maxwell cheats on her and they break up. She vows to not be with another guy. She just watches far away. She guards her heart and builds up walls to protect it. Dylan is Canadian and just moved to Manhattan. There he becomes popular and is the hottest guy in school. None of his friends are "real" they are all fake. After a huge blowout he mets Elise the one girl who makes no effort with him. Just stays far away. He is intrigued and that is the day they met.
