But Zhongli is also holding a secret that can endanger the possibility of marriage as a whole. And what happens when a princess of a neighbouring kingdom plans to sabotage the whole wedding?

In his mind, he only cares for battles, wars, and blood. Perhaps the motivation is to protect his family, or, perhaps, the motive is revenge on the creature that lays in the abyss, waiting to strike at any moment. Or perhaps, he wishes to accomplish both and understand the contract set by him and Zhongli years ago despite not remembering the details. Meeting in the rain, the two placed an agreement upon themselves without an idea of how much destruction would take place. Meanwhile, Zhongli must fight to learn how to love the man who seems determined to subdue the feelings lingering between them. Then, just when Zhongli thinks their situation can't become any more complicated, the unveiling of a decade-held secret threatens to steal away the perfect future he's been longing for.
