    In the wake of political downfall, the city of Forevermore has fallen, and crime families have risen to take control.

To sabotage the union, she curses Briar Rose to be killed on the eve of her 21st birthday, the night before she comes of age to marry Julian. 
    
    Determined to stop this evil prophecy, Tobias hires the talents of his private investigator and former detective, Richard Jinx, to keep his daughter safe. 
    
    But evil is persistent, and in a gritty, unpredictable world, no one is safe.
