Palenomia is dying. After the devastation of the Shade Wars, General Kiliar Ravege is tasked with an important mission. He must find the sacred glass relic lost in his infancy to restore his brother's rightful claim to the throne. They set out to find it with a band of not-so-merry men and women, but discover something else along the way: a finnit named Ember. Her connection to the dying lands of Palenomia are beyond what the brother's could ever imagine, and may prove to be their saving grace. But with the finnit species being hunted down for their unmatched power by the king himself, keeping the girl safe may be more than they bargained for. Now Kiliar must make a choice.
