I'll Be There for You ~ Another Chad Kroeger FF

Kathryn "Katie" Marie Adair is eleven years old when her father, Daniel Adair, joins the band Nickelback in 2005.

Her life begins to look up after the traumatic loss of her mother in 2003 when her father meets her step-mother, Bethany Holden. She begins to feel like her life will be normal again, that is until Bethany got pregnant in the spring of 2005.

Katie accepts her new baby brother, Patrick Michael, into the family with open arms, but things only get worse. Just six months shy of Patrick's first birthday, Patrick is diagnosed with Autism and Bethany announces she is once again pregnant.

Katie feels left out once her baby sister, Addisyn Nicole, is born, as she was born also on the autism spectrum. Her autism is not as severe as Patrick's, but still leaves her in the dark.

Katie falls into depression, but is brought out of it by Damien, Ryan Peake's son. The two start a relationship together in early 2008, but in March, Katie finds out she is expecting a baby. She tells her family, receiving love from her father, but hatred from her step-mother. This causes the two to find an apartment in the city of Vancouver.

Two months later, the young couple suffer a traumatic loss which leads to their break up. Katie returns home to her father's home, where arguing is sure to occur.

After having enough of the fighting, Katie decides to move out in late 2010. She confides in Chad Kroeger, one of her father's best friends, for support on what she should do. Chad offers her a place to stay, as the city is not very safe for a young girl fresh out of high school.

This begins the relationship of the two, despite the age difference.
