Nina's life has taken a turn for the best for once. After the death of her best friends, Jack is there to cheer her up and make life worth living. All seems well, Nina might finally get her happy ending, until the war begins. The global war between the rising mutant league, the Evolutionary Group and the rest of the planet begins, turning the world against mutants. Sides will be chosen, fighting for mutant rights, or to end this rebellion. No one can be trusted, no one can be safe.

This is book two, following The wolverines daughter. If you haven't read that then you'll be totally lost. It's been two years since Nina has left the mansion in search of her mother. And she found what she was looking for. Will her mom support her ideas and job as part of the xmen? It's also been two years since she's seen jack.
