Every 24 years, the Guardians Trials are held to choose the the next 12 Lunar Guardians.

Zira Illyria always dreamt to be a Lunar Guardian. She had prepared her entire life to take part in the Trials. To be a Guardian, she will finally get to restore the Illyria family name after her mother was disgraced as their leader. But for Zira, that will never be her fate. The Lunar Guardians must be firstborns of their families. Zira was always second fiddle to her older twin sister Zorya. She would never get her chance. 

But when Zorya was nowhere in sight on the day of the Trial, Zira sees an opportunity that she must seized. Will she make it to the end of the Guardian Trial or will she be caught before she can fulfil her dreams to be a Lunar Guardian?
