Quick note! Yes, this story is based off of the many SCP-001's that there are, but instead of it being one of the entities I'm going to write it off of the event, When Day Breaks. If you don't know what that SCP is or what SCP's are in general, I recommend looking into it.
There might be more SCP based things in this, but I'm going to try as much as possible to explain everything in the story as the characters learn more about 001, and if I miss anything I will explain about it more after the story is done.
Bee and Bat are 10 year old girls living in a simple, safe and familiar suburban neighborhood. Everything is normal, as always. Nothing is out of place and suddenly one day there are scientists in weird lab coats saying to not go outside. After their mother doesn't return home and they start... Seeing things outside, they go on an adventure and meet a group of castaways, filled with scientists, escaped prisoners, mysterious entities, and just ordinary people.
(Do not mention the cover, I'll make a actually good one when the book finishes.)

I never thought my life would be like this; trapped in a dark room and scared for my life. A blindfold was wrapped around my head, covering my eyes, making me completely blind and on high alert. For many years now, The Ark has kept what's left of humanity alive. But about a year ago, an engineer discovered a huge problem in the Ark's system. The Ark's life support systems are failing, and it won't be long before they run out of air and die. Hence, the current situation. These kids are being sent on a desperate mission to see if the ground is survivable again. But why kids though? Won't it be better to have the more capable scientists or guards be the ones to take this risk?
