Space battles and tender moments ensue as the crew of a decommissioned battlecarrier stumble upon a first contact transmission from an unknown alien race.

The war is over, but for Zephyr the aftermath has only begun. The galaxy is far from the idyllic zone of peace and prosperity advertised by the Cerberan Empire. As the Lord of the Burning Tides it is his duty to protect; even if those he's chosen to make his family are reviled by polite society.
