It had been a year since the world ended.

Cities replaced by desecrated ruins haunted by the groans of the undead, looted houses not just of resources, but empty of the lived-in warmth. An empty hearth. 

Perhaps the shittiest thing about this world was the smell. Abhorrent, vile, disgusting and all the other negative words I can think of. You could kill the zombies, start new farms, and build new camps, 

But the smell of rotting flesh still follows.
