One year ago, Prythian suffered an attack at the hands of the necromancer, Melantha. She was ultimately defeated, but the marks of her terrible influence still remain in the memories and on the bodies of her victims. Wynter, Heir to the Winter Court, bears many of those marks. Unable to live with himself after what happened on the island Inmortui, Wynter chose to go into seclusion and face his lingering trauma alone. Regardless of his attempts to isolate himself, there are those who refuse to abandon him, no matter how badly he wishes they would. Elodie Rohese has carried a fondness towards Wynter since she first met him, just before he was kidnapped by Melantha. She refuses to leave him alone in his isolation, and instead, visits his home frequently, even though he never admits her. Despite her uncle's wrath and prejudices, Elodie continues to reach out to Wynter. When circumstances finally drive Wynter to answer her, they are both swept into a storm of unresolved trauma and unacknowledged romance. Together, they can weather the storm, but apart, it will only break them. Disclaimer: I do not own the ACOTAR series or the characters and places therein. (Part 2/3 of Discordant Note) (Part 1: Discordant Note | TBATE) Toren Daen entered the Central Cathedral feeling hope, ready to challenge the High Vicar and prove his soul. He left it broken, his wings sundered and torn. But Toren has a spark; an ember of fire left in his heart that the people around him strive to rekindle. And if Fate is kind, he may just rise from this defeat like the ghostly phoenix bound to his soul. Toren knows he can help the world he has found himself in. Now, the only task is to flap the butterfly's wings-because Toren hopes to change the outcome of the Dicathian war. But it will not be so simple. The Scythes loom about him like the blades of executioners, always watching and waiting. The twisted politics of Alacrya have sunk their claws deep into Toren's soul, and though he may set foot on another continent with the hopes of giving the Dicathians a chance, those he cares for will always chain his heart. Arthur Leywin, twin Anchor for the Legacy, will not bend to the change Toren heralds so easily. Seris Vritra has plans of her own for Toren as they enter the war in Darv, and there is no telling if his desires fit anywhere within her schemes. The Hearth looms as a beacon of hope: if Toren lives long enough to make it there. And behind it all, two gods play a game of chess: and they both have a question on their minds as the war of lessers reaches a crescendo. How many times can a phoenix die before it will no longer rise from the ashes? (Updates Tuesdays/Saturdays) (Cover art commissioned by @_aphora_)

Future Magi (Magi Fanfiction)

34 parts Complete

*I do not own Magi or any of it's characters* Several hundred years after the Kou Empire civil war, Al-Thamen is completely defeated. The battle was long and hard, leaving most of the word in ruins. The normal humans, who later call themselves MWS (Magic-weilders Subjugation Organization) decide that magicians and metal vessel users are far too strong, too dangerous. The MWS begin locking up any race that had power. Magicians, dungeon capturers' djinn, household users, magi, and even the Fanalis and Imuchakk. Once they were finished, they united the world, making it all one country, and genetically mutated humans to be sure no magicians were born... Despite all this, one magi survived. Neah, a twenty four year old still in her senior year of high school, with an arrogant personality. She's also the only fallen member of society, another thing MWS tried to fix, but couldn't with her. Neah's vowed to save her fellow magicians, seeing it as her duty being the last free magi...but it doesn't exactly go as planned... (40K words)
