[lavashipping, high school AU] They have been friends - best friends - for ages, does something simple like this seriously tear them apart? Sure, it was a process, it was in the making for a while, Kai just never believed something like this could ever actually happen. Cole was so caught up in his rebellion against his father that their friendship became collateral damage. People grow and they grow apart but that wasn't supposed to apply to them too. They were the for-lifers, the beyond-the-gravers. It was them against the world until it wasn't. And now all Kai had left were memories and a whirlwind of emotions and feelings. He should've known high school was going to be a mess even for somebody like himself.

Cole never thought the place he hated most in the world would be where he met the person he cared the most about. That was until he met renowned vlogger Kai when visiting the hospital his mother passed away in. Kai always felt lonely, stranded in the hospital. He loved writing about a faraway world called Ninjago though, which had always been a welcome distraction from his cancer. When he met Cole, it was like life had meaning again. Beautiful things can happen in unlikely places. ((Note)) I changed the story rating to Mature because another fic of mine with similar levels of content (mostly gore, mentions of sensitive topics and the like) is on mature rating. If this inconveniences anyone, let me know. I will be deleting this part of the description in a few weeks

Kai and Cole have feelings for each other that they don't quite know how to express it for fear of rejection. But hey love usually finds a way right? Being a music major, writing new songs is a daily task, and Cole needed to keep it up if he wanted to truly be a musician and didn't want to get on thin ice with his manager. When his inspiration runs dry, he decides to try a new coffee shop, hoping to stimulate the gears and get his brain going.
