She never knew her biological father, and her mother, Lauren Volkov, abandoned her when she was young as well; nine, to be exact. She was born with a rare form of Congenital Insensitivity to Pain and was unable to feel physical pain, so she never complained about something as simple as a paper cut or a stubbed toe since her brain didn't register it. She was diagnosed with anxiety and bipolar I disorder around that time as well and that's when her life was going 'downhill'. Over the years, she was also diagnosed with parasomnia, ADHD, paranoid personality disorder, and acute stress disorder. Needless to say she had more prescriptions than she chose to mention to anyone except for the people that already knew, and even then, she didn't talk about her mental illnesses, which her friends understood and complied with. After her mother left her, Katherine and George Walter took her in, having basically watched her grow up since Katherine and Lauren had known each other for as long as anyone remembered...until she up and left her only daughter behind that is. Nicolette moved in with them when she was nine and was practically raised alongside the Walter kids, as well as the Garcia boys when they moved in as well. She'd managed to get her life, and her mental illnesses, in order just when things in her life changed once more. She wants to lay back and be mature. However, will that ever change? I mean, high school is always rough and deceiving, right? Mikayla is an excellent student and makes amazing grades. However, she has competition. Daniel is Mikayla's competition. He plays quarterback on their school's football team. Typical, right? Well, Mikayla and Daniel have competed against each other for years. Daniel likes to push Mikayla down and make her feel like he's superior and better. Daniel is six-foot-something and handsome. He could pull any girl he wanted, however, he remains single. Is it his terrible personality? Or does he like being single? This story is about teenage love and the problems that you can encounter in high school. Mikayla and Daniel, head to-head, all the time. However, who will win overall?
