Gleason

They stood across from each other. only a foot away. Neither wanted to give an inch. He towered a good six inches over her but she held her ground. She knew this is what she had to do to keep him safe, so she did it. The dim light from the TV only amplified what they felt. She thought she had convinced him to leave, but he seen right through her little act. She seen his eyebrows pull together. He shook his head. His messy brown hair fell into his face before he pushed it back. They locked eyes. His thoughts were confirmed as he looked into her eyes. They were broken inside. She didn't really want him to leave.
"Liar." He said quietly calling her out. "We both know you don't want me to leave because you don't love me. Now tell me the truth, Please." He said slowly. His lips pulled up into a tight line after he spoke.
"But I want you to leave." She spoke. Her voice was full of denial.
"Yes but it's not because you don't love me" He argued. She looked away. He gently put his hands on her shoulders startling her. She looked back up to him. "Hazel, what's the real reason?" He asked slowly, his voice was begging for her to tell. Her eyes fell to the ground as she let herself fall onto the couch. "Please tell me Hazel. I don't want to leave." He begged. A tear fell out of her eye. She nodded. after taking a breath she looked back up at him.
"Harry, their coming for me-." She answered. Her voice broke tears streamed out of her eyes. She had finally told him. It took him a few seconds for his brain to register what she said. They were coming for her. They were going to try and kill her just like they did to her dad. He sat down next to her. She relaxed as his presence soothed her. She looked over to him. Her eyes said it all, she was terrified. "What am i going to do, Harry?" She asked. He wrapped his arm around her. She leaned into his warm muscular chest. A second of silence passed.
"You're going to let me protect you." He answered.
