“Mama.”

The little girl whispered - a sound which could not be heard
above the hooting of the bystanders. But as quiet as the cry was the woman who
stood at her place of death sharply turned her head to look at her daughter,
her piercing grey eyes filled with tears.

The woman gave her young daughter a last motherly smile and
mouthed the words the girl had heard all to many times, but yet this time it
sounded like a goodbye.

“Be safe Lilwen.”

Lilwen lost her mother at the tender age of 10 to the high
rise in witch trials. As she watched her mother burn and scream in agonising
pain the young girl felt an roaring hate for the court who had ordered her mother’s
death. Lilwen swore an oath to take vengeance for her mother’s death, but she
hesitates as she stumbles across an alluring distraction.
