Everleigh Westmead is just a normal 20 year old human girl, living in the above city of Zelartine, also known as The City of Light, dominated by Fae. Her brothers who are half Fae, are accepted with their distilled bloodline, and are apart of the order that protects the city, as they posses the powers no one has seen for decades. 
Multiple people are being kidnapped and murdered, causing panic before The New Moon Crowning that is soon approaching. 
With secret employment to save up and leave the city that is no longer safe, her plans soon become erased as she becomes marked as a chosen to compete for the Throne.
The Fae despise that a human has been chosen and are doing everything in there power to get rid of her. 
But fate always has a plan, as she crosses paths with a sexy, intoxicating male Fae, that she is drawn to. But his deep dark secrets are holding them back. 
Her main focus is to get through the trials and be with her family again, but the lust is consuming her. And him.
Everleigh has to survive 5 trials. If you do not pass, you die. Thats what the Fae are counting on.All Rights Reserved

I clap my hands twice and hear a soul-crushing scream that appears to pierce my body to its core. Hearing the sound fills my stomach with butterflies and gives me a fuzzy feeling. I haven't heard a single sound in almost a year. Following the scream, a shadowy figure emerges. He appears deep black, littered with stars, as if a human-like shape has been carved out of the universe, but also strangely transparent, as if made of glass. His long arms end in clawed fingers, and his ears and horns are goat-like in appearance. On his back are two bat-like wings. He speaks in a deep voice-the only one I've heard in a long time. "Mortal, why have you awoken me from my slumber?"
