Out Of Control
George hasn't had an easy life after being diagnosed with autism. Going to a public school as an autistic, highly intelligent boy, he clearly notices the differences between his classmates and himself, giving him a lot of insecurity and shame about his own behaviour. As his escape, he goes to a bakery for hours a day to calm his mind, but things change when a new boy who moved is hired. Unexpectedly, and for the first time, George decides to open himself up to the new boy, Clay, while at the same time, Clay slowly starts falling for his new best friend, George. Mostly fluff with some angst every now and then! ⚠️ I wrote this book from my own experience and my own mindset, as someone with diagnosed autism, highly intelligent and ADHD. I DON'T think people with autism are childish or cute, I'm not projecting a stereotype. This is from my own struggles with autism at a public school without special needs.Complete
This Is Me
George loved dresses, they loved how they flowed so elegantly in the slightest of breezes, how beautiful dresses looked when George stood admiring them in front of a mirror for hours, looking at every stitch and every sequin. Clay on the other hand, despite having two dads was homophobic, he despised his dads and how they held one another in each other's arms. But that was all a mask only he didn't dare to admit it. After all the rough times he had gone through, he was not longer the one who was bullied. He was the bully. It was for sure that George wasn't going to be able to keep wearing dresses in secret forever, it was only a matter of time until people found out, but how would everyone respond? Anxiety comes creeping back into George's life from his childhood. Thinking he can handle it on his own, he doesn't tell anyone. Clay has autism and finds comfort in simple things, the illuminated a fireplace on a winter's night, fish swimming and stuffed animals. However, this was all soon to change after a tragic accident. Clay finds himself alone, seeing his happiness slip away from one simple mistake. George doesn't have an easy home life, after noticing signs of possibly a muscle disease, his only wish is to get help for it, however his parents deny every word that is brought up about it. Yet, it gets worse by the day as George quickly looses any hope left. When Clay is left traumatised by his past, he thinks nothing will bring back the same happiness he once felt, but when George moves into the farm he often visits, that same joy that was extinguished with the fire, sparks again... Fighting Together
George suffers from epilepsy which causes him to be bullied for that at school. After being humiliated in front of the whole school for being gay, the popular boy named Clay decides to stand up for him. Clay, suffering from diabetes with abusive and not supportive parents, does everything to help George get rid of the bullies while struggling a lot himself. The two start getting closer and closer until Clay starts realising he's more similar to George than he expected to be, wanting to be closer to him every day. George is 17 and in his last year of high school when he gets terrible news. After having weird nosebleeds, strange bruises and a lot of dizziness, the doctors find out George has leukaemia. George's best friend, Clay, is there the whole day for George and as George fights his battle against leukaemia, Clay supports him in every way possible. He shaves his head too and is there with George in all of his chemos. He buys George his favourite beanies and even let someone make one for him. But doctors start to lose hope of George ever getting better and since there is no match for a stem cell transplantation, there is only one person left to help him. After George is kicked out from his home for being transgender, he looses hope in ever finding someone that would accept him for who he really is. George's only option was to move in with his homophobic grandparents and he only wishes to be called a boy however that apparently was too much to ask. In a last attempt to find happiness he attends a music class as he enjoys singing. He meets a boy, Clay, however will Clay be just like the others? Dream is trying to hide his eating disorder, depression and anxiety really badly, but George and Sapnap start noticing more and more signals. When Dream is home alone, Sapnap and George fly over. Dream passes out and George and Sapnap realise something is completely wrong. At the same time Dream starts realising his crush on George, but George doesn't seem to feel the same... in fact he seems to be homophobic...
