This is a short story, some what religious, it was a contest entry for my private school (It's Christian), so if you don't really care about religious things, over view this, cause I used this story to bring attention to depression and how others can change this. If you do read this, take into consideration the many who have not had the chance to meet someone to comfort them in their darkest times and decided to end the pain. Many lives have been lost to suicide, so please note those people as soldiers who fought harder battles than anyone, they fought bravely against their own demons. So take remember and never forget the depressed and the people who lost their lives to depression. Also this does deal with a fatal car crash, so if you do not like the theme of that, I suggest not reading. This story is a little under 2400 words due to that being the maximum of the contest word amount. Enjoy.

Have you ever met someone who alters the course of your life? For good or for bad, they've come in, given and taken, and then- BOOM! Your life was never the same. Four years later and we're still on the ground, crawling, in search of the happiness that was lost that June. Summers will never be the same. Midnight walks through my neighborhood will never be the same. Field parties with bonfires and loud music will never be the same. I still don't know why you left and what lead you to the decision you made. What I do know is that we're here. We're alive and we're pushing forward to the future. A future that you're not a part of.
