Grayson, who works as a publisher but also has a vicious side, meets her. Their friendships develop into something much more. He realizes he can't have her because he is afraid of hurting her.
She understands to be with him she must take whatever he throws at her. He is afraid that her tragic background would push her away from him. She believes she is capable of dealing with what he brings to the table. Can she, in the end?
