The government had made a law almost five years ago. Different from your averge laws, this one comes with a list. Each citizen is given a list of words that they can use each day. Consequences are supposed to be put into action if the law isn't followed but no one knows what those consequences are. After not being able to say what she wants day after day Katie Nelson wonders what would happen if someone didn't follow this law. Would the system break? She's followed the law up until this point and has yet to overcome many obstacles during the time to come. But not being able to speak her mind for the past few years has become tiring for Katie. With the help of her two best friends, Hailey and Jordan they intend to make the world normal again. But will love interfere with their plans? "I hate not being able to say whatever I want" -journal entry #45

What if life was dependent on a button? Your life specifically....and if someone decided that they didn't like you, they could turn that button off. But only the government had control of those buttons. Had control of lives. Had the control of who lives and who dies? Acid is no exceptions to this way of life. One wrong step, one wrong move, and you are dead. Or as they say, Gone. It's an unsaid rule that you don't say nothing bad about anyone working for the government. Unsaid that you don't try to escape The Town. Unsaid that you don't do anything out of daily life. Unsaid that one person can kill all.
