I couldn't deal with my heart pounding every time I heard your name.
Delilah is a girl who thinks she is not good enough for someone's love, so she hides in the shadows. He could never be hers, or so she claims.
When Tristan moved to the small town of Jacksonville it was boring no excitement, no daring things struck out to him. Even though as long as he can remember moving to the small town called Jacksonville he felt a pair of eyes on him. It felt familiar and he liked it, but he didn't think much of it. People usually stare and gawk at him in disgust. Finishing off his senior year he didn't think anything could happen. He was just supposed to graduate and leave the small boring town for adventure. Who would've known that the pair of eyes that he thought he imagined was a person?

His lips jerked up into a lopsided sneer as his hand snapped back to his side. The sudden movement left my back cold, as if his palm had been a source of warmth. "You've got to be kidding me!" His tone dripped with disgust. My eyes turned to questioning as I looked back up into his eyes. I brought my hand up to rub my nose, squinting at the slight pain. "What the hell." He grumbled. "I, Jay Julian, reject you as my mate." He, or Jay, said with venom lacing his voice. He quickly turned and walked down the now vacant hallway with no glance back. Rejection? What the hell was that? Was it some sort of local lingo? How did I get rejected on my first day? The first person I make eye contact with at this school rejects me. I guess that's how this school works, if the hottest boy in school rejects you, you're a nobody. If that's how this small town school worked, then I was screwed.
