Kaylin Podmore's sophomore year of high school is just starting out with her boyfriend of three months, Lucas Mitchell. They spent their summer together with their friends and family as well as traveling across the country for races while also navigating the waters of their newer relationship. As they start to get back into the swing of things with school back in session, Kaylin, her family and her friends soon realize how fast things can change.
Kaylin and Lucas are still dealing with Nichole Young, who is Lucas's overly jealous ex-girlfriend who can't seem to grasp the fact Lucas doesn't want to be with her, let alone be around her.
There's also a strange guy creeping around Nichole and Jesse Landford's, Kaylin's ex-boyfriend, individual group of friends who makes moves against Kaylin, even in front of Lucas a few times, none of which end well.
In the middle of all this, Kaylin's friendship with Grace Barnes, her lifelong best friend, is put to the test after Grace starts acting off towards their group of friends and her boyfriend, Austin Ward almost out of the blue.
Kaylin tries her best to keep her friendship with Grace together, but after numerous fights which all end in hurt feelings on both ends, it makes things difficult for Kaylin because her best friend isn't acting like who Kaylin thought she was.
Kaylin's life has been thrown into the ringer, and she doesn't know what she wants to do, knowing what it could cost her. Does everything actually happen for a reason or will she make a rash decision she'll regret?
This book was written in 2016 when I was obviously going through a ruff time, and honestly this book sucks. But I'm to lazy to edit it all and don't seem to care about it since I was sooo young. But enjoy?
Angst holds the crowd, Players drenched in sweat, the dribbling ball falls to a standstill, silence takes up the room. Keegan Murray makes a shot in overtime, in mid-flight, hope enters his eyes. As the ball gracefully hits the brim and deem itself into the net, Keegan's right arm get euthanized by his team player.
The crowd jumps from the bleachers and approaches the winning team. Declaring champions of Evert University, and state champs. I Josephine Brown just recorded the whole thing and Keegan's career hangs in the balancing act.
Being an art student is beautiful, everything around you is art. The ocean, the mountains, people you surrounded yourself with or even a college basketball game. That's what Josephine knew to a tee, but will Josephine choose art over loving someone like Keegan Murray?
