Dear Tokyo

For someone who is just trying to run away from being an adult, Lyric Kolan has high expectations for her study abroad in Tokyo, Japan.

Amongst becoming fluent in Japanese, travelling all over the country, and making lifelong friends, Lyric dreams of finding The One. She hasn't had much luck in her Australian hometown for 22 years; a change of scenery could be the fix she needs.

However, Tokyo doesn't turn out to be what she thought. The boys in her dorm leave something to be desired and when she does find one worthy of her attention, a boy from Spain named Eduardo, his eyes are set on her friend instead and her first soirée into love triangles ends not with a bang but with a fizzle.

Just when Lyric is ready to call it quits and focus on having fun, a global pandemic presses pause on every aspect of her life except, surprisingly, love, as lockdown pushes her and Eduardo back together.

But Australia and Spain are on opposite sides of the globe. Will their relationship last outside of Tokyo?
