stockholm syndrome is a weird phenomenon. who could possibly fall in love with someone who kidnaps them? besides, he is already engaged. there was no way he fell victim.
that's what he thought at least. but as he looks at the ethereal man with a voice that is smooth as butter and sweet as molasses, it's hard to hold on to his conviction.

Wasting a good body
Ever since his childhood he's found that the urge to chop humans up is as strong as the urge to eat. Mark is a serial killer. His favourite hobby is to track down rapists and murders, then bring them back to his cabin in the wood by any means necessary. Chop them up and dispose of the parts so they're never seen of again. It's either that or dump the body's near water to wash it of evidence. But one snow covered night, when he travels down to the frozen lake to slide a body under the ice, he finds another body. In one piece and without a pulse. While still riding his high, he takes the frozen body back to his cutting room. After all, who would waste a good body? This story is about Stockholm Syndrome and how it can develop in people kept in captivity. The sounds overwhelm me and I don't know what to do. I watch as the people swarm around me talking, but I can't hear them. I am watching the screen. I see myself in the recording, but what I see is not what I remember. I look at the woman with hope in her eyes. "That's not me." I state matter-of-factly, but I can't even convince myself. I see myself and I know that it's me, but it didn't happen. I see the hope drain from the woman's eyes. "Come on Laney, don't you remember?" A tall blonde boy asks me with desperation evident in his voice. "I'm sorry, but um, that's not what happened. And my name is not Laney." I look down, not wanting to see the pain in his eyes. He seemed familiar, it was hard to hurt him, but there was nothing I could do. They had the wrong girl.
