After being outed to the only people he now disliked the most, his parents react worse than expected and Clay falls into a pit of loneliness when he gets sent to conversion therapy to "turn him straight again". George had homophobic parents too and goes through the same. When times are at its worst somehow these two meet each other and now they are isolated from reality in the therapy school. There is also a small amount of physical abuse, but it is mostly implied apart from one scene which is not extremely graphic. Some characters are homophobic, and a slur is used a handful of times. **2025 Update: Hi! This was my very first attempt at crafting an entire story from scratch all the way back in 2020, and I'd like to think my writing has since improved. I will soon be revisiting this story and making some enhancements - most notably, splitting up current chapters into smaller ones so they are much more easily digestible. In addition, I'll be making some edits to grammar and formatting, as well as giving some of the dialog a refresh in an effort to be less...cringe. Lol. Clay has autism and finds comfort in simple things, the illuminated a fireplace on a winter's night, fish swimming and stuffed animals. However, this was all soon to change after a tragic accident. Clay finds himself alone, seeing his happiness slip away from one simple mistake. George doesn't have an easy home life, after noticing signs of possibly a muscle disease, his only wish is to get help for it, however his parents deny every word that is brought up about it. Yet, it gets worse by the day as George quickly looses any hope left. When Clay is left traumatised by his past, he thinks nothing will bring back the same happiness he once felt, but when George moves into the farm he often visits, that same joy that was extinguished with the fire, sparks again...
