The kingdoms of Caedland and Saroviya have been at war for centuries, and a darkness has spread across the Northern Lands. In the east, Saroviya has been crippled by fighting on multiple fronts, while Caedland still reels from the murder of its queen's consort and the disappearance of its princess nearly two decades ago. Now, in the war-torn lands between the two kingdoms, a new threat has emerged, an unnatural disease that specifically targets the witches who fight for both kingdoms.

In Caedland, a new draft means that young witch Judith Craven must report to the kingdom's capital to join the New Army and begin her training in the military arts. There, however, she soon discovers that her power is not as it seems-and neither is her heritage.

Meanwhile, in Saroviya, the king's personal Healer, Alina Kalinin, finds herself sucked into a dangerous political landscape when she is assigned by the leader of the Order of Mages to create a cure for the mysterious new disease that has appeared on her kingdom's border.

Even as Judith grapples with awful power and Alina struggles to understand a disease whose origins she soon comes to suspect aren't natural, a group of criminals in the neutral kingdom of Rijkelund set out to steal a sacred artifact from the Saroviyan embassy. But, as they embark on a seemingly-impossible mission, they soon discover that all is not as it may seem, and both Saroviya and Caedland are playing a very different game than it may seem from the outside.

28 parts Complete Mature
Book 1 of The Shadow Series. Myths, that's what the humans called it, but for Ashe it quickly became her reality. Her life changing transformation narrowed her paths down to two; She could either embrace her fates and save the people she's grown to love, or she can walk away and live a somewhat normal life while others suffer the consequences. How far is she willing to go to create peace where there's never been any? Will she even create peace? Or will she help encourage the most brutal war the Shadow Realms have ever experienced? Several years of Asheland's childhood had disappeared from her memory. She assumed it was her brain trying to protect her from a traumatic event, although that's true it's not exactly what she expected and her brain wasn't necessarily the cause. After being homeless until she was sixteen years old, then living in a boat dock for four years, she had finally found her home in a cottage in the near-by mountains of Wolf Creek. Everything seemed to be going well. However, as a list of secrets begin unraveling when Ashe gives in to her overwhelming urges to visit the island that terrified almost every citizen in Wolf Creek, her life becomes more complicated than she could've ever imagined. All of this just because she was turning twenty-one. Nothing was as it had ever seemed. * excerpt from the book * { "Why do you make such reckless, impulsive decisions?" The old man asked as we watched the moon. "The world could end tomorrow and everyone expects me to live in fear today? There's no life to live inside the box of fear, there's no freedom in there," I replied softly. }

Up until she turned 15, Emma's life was ordinary. Living in Los Angeles, she had a few friends, and loved learning history. She had a fascination with magic growing up, but after elementary, she moved on from the foolish idea, learning the hard way that magic isn't real and that it's only a lie Hollywood had fed her. But her whole perspective shifted again after the passing of her grandpa. She discovered that he had kept a secret from his whole family-that he once was a warlock. He had given up that life when he moved to L.A. in the 1970s, but Emma and her cousin Carolina are determined to learn every trick in the spell book he left behind. Fast forward to a year later, Emma's life takes a new turn. During junior year, a mysterious new student from San Bernardino catches her eye. He's mysterious, intriguing, and mostly keeps to himself, but why? It's what she wonders every day when they cross paths. Who in Glendale would want to be so secretive, anyway? Bobby Staten-that's who. Due to Bobby's classic leather jacket and dark aesthetic, Emma and her friends constantly joke that maybe he's a vampire and that's the secret he's hiding. It's no longer funny when a series of gruesome killings occur at Verdugo High, described by local officers as a bloody mark found on the necks of the victims. Strangely, this same pattern had appeared earlier in spring at a San Bernardino High School. Coincidence? Rebecca, Emma's other cousin, thinks not. Rebecca quickly suspects a connection and begins investigating Bobby's past and persona. As Emma befriends him, she struggles to believe that someone like Bobby could be capable of crimes so vicious. Rebecca reminds her that one of the only ways to permanently kill a vampire is with a stake through the heart-in much more poetic terms, heart right through Verdugo.

[COMPLETED] I was cursed at such a young age, abandoned by my own wolf and the Moon Goddess for something that wasn't in my control. I don't even think having a mate is in the cards for me... ✨🌘✨ I jumped when the final horn sounded, circling the garden before everyone became silent. They all returned to their seats, my father rising from his chair as I stood from my seat along with the other pups. I struggled to breath as we took our position, standing in the centre away from everyone else. My father offered me a reassuring glance though it did nothing to ease my anxiety, all I had to do now was wait. My eyes widened when the moons blue light shined down on me, illuminating my skin as I stared up at the sky in awe. "We thank the moon goddess for the power of her light..." I dropped my gaze back down, my fathers words surrounding us, "...Shall it bathe you and grant you strength, agility, speed like the wolf..." The pups around me began to moan in pain, capturing my attention as I furrowed my brows. Their features were all contorted by an invisible pain that inflicted them but I felt absolutely nothing. My heart raced when their groans of pain became screams but I- I suddenly drop to the ground, a painful throbbing in my head forcing me to the ground. I grip the sides of my head, screaming. I don't know how to explain it but it felt as though my brain was tearing in two, like my head was cracking open. When the pain stopped, I found myself surrounded by wolves, the shifted pups. Looking down at myself, I only see my body, no paws and no fur. I hadn't shifted... ✨🌕✨ Book 2* 'The Wolven King' is the first book and must be read in order to understand this one. ⚠️ WARNING!! I'M GOING TO START EDITING THIS PROBABLY. If you go to Our Lady of the Black Veil Academy, chances are you know the names Cass Landry, Rebecca Lovelace, and Mallory Meksawan. Cass Landry being the mysterious new girl with a tendency to practice magic illegally, Rebecca being notorious for lighting up every room she walks into, and Mallory being the second in command it-girl of Black Veil, as famed as she is feared. After a magical attempt to escape detention goes terribly, horribly wrong and their ethics teacher winds up dead (ironic, they know), Cass must band together with Rebecca, the girl she "totally doesn't like", and Mallory, another girl she doesn't like (but like...for real this time) to find a spell that can bring their teacher back to life before her situation becomes permanent. A spell of this caliber, however, requires that they venture into the underground world of their picturesque town, striking a deal with a powerful gang leader that not only raises the stakes, but gives them an even tighter timeline. And though as a witch Cass has personal experience with life and death, the pressure that she's facing now might just be too tough to handle. Luckily, she's not alone. And with the three baddest witches of Black Veil, who knows what could happen. (So yeah I failed but I'm keeping ONC in the title okay let me have this)
