When lifelong orphan Soulen Caddavid moves to a seaside town in Newfoundland with his newest set of foster parents, he immediately starts looking for a reason to run away back to the USA. Instead he finds a reason to stay-his new friend, Sunshine Crickett. Crickett is different from the other kids in town... much nicer, for one, but also more mysterious. Finally Crickett lets Soulen in on his secret... he is the protecter of an ancient key that leads to a huge chest of gold. But nothing is as it seems in Cormorant Cove...

Clay's life seems fine, but is everything except from fine due to bullies ruining his happiness day by day. His grandpa is the only one who knows everything about him, but when he gets really sick and passes away, Clay's life completely collapses. To regain his control, he starts developing obsessive behaviour, getting so bad that it turns into OCD. The control he tried to regain gets lost even further with the day. But when the only place, his sport, he finds peace also gets ruined by bullies and his OCD, George is suddenly there to stick up for him when everyone else isn't.
