The moments Sapphire spends with her thoughts in another place seem like her best ones. And these moments are normal to her. Normal is coming home to an irresponsible brother. Normal is passing by dozens of mumbling teenagers with headphones over their ears as she finds a seat at the back of the bus. Normal is avoiding technology and eating dinner at 6:30 every evening.
But when people around her start acting differently, not to mention totally screwing up Sapphire's "normal", she can't help but wonder what she had missed out on when her thoughts were in another place: in the enigmatic corners of her mind.
