A love to conquer all things.
Maelys had woken up in a field, with no knowledge of who she once was. Her eyes had first met with the young prince of Ylisse, a handsome man with the name of Chrom.
After a fight and proven herself to be a surprising force to be reckoned with, Chrom invited her to be the tactician of his own militia - The Shepherds.
Little did she know that the next couple of months would be the harder than she had ever imagined, she maybe able to play the field of war, but the struggle of casualities that came along with, the loss and the pain she saw everywhere were almost too much to handle. She learned that first hand watching helplessly as Chrom ran to try and stop his sister, Emmeryn from becoming a martyr.
But she held on, and eventually they regrouped their emotions enough to finally get rid of the Mad King once and for all.
When you fight for your life with someone, there's no doubt you'll become close. That's exactly what happened with the prince and the tactician, yet fate was not on their sides. As the war came to a close, and Chrom rose up to take his sister's place as ruler, he was required to marry and continue the Exalted lineage as soon as he could.
He was given a list of fine women who could provide healthy children from the royal advisors. Maelys did not make the cut, though he doubted she would have accepted him anyway.
Soon, he was married to Sumia the Pegasus knight, and nine months later a daughter named Lucina was born.
It wasn't much later that a messenger from Regna Ferox arrived in the Ylisstol castle bringing grave news of a possible threat from the country of Valm.
This is where our story continues.. As the Shepherds prepare for another war, we ask how the undeniable attraction between the two leaders shall affect it all, and what will they do as strange people claiming to be from the future start appearing?
