"I knew 2 things for certain. 1. I needed to call the school cleaners, because I was not touching that. and 2. Living with Parker Claymoore was going to be hell on earth." ~~~~~ With Dakota's seemingly new-found hobby of getting arrested, her mother and step-father decide to send her to Skywood Sierra Academy; the school notorious for housing troubled rich kids. Pretty soon, Dakota finds herself getting hauled across the country from her cozy New England hometown, all the way to San Diego's county, the only place it seems to snow in California. Dakota seems to blend in with the crowd at Skywood Sierra, and scores herself what she thinks to be the "perfect friends" and "perfect boyfriend." Everything was going good for Dakota Kingsley. At least it was until her senior year. The summer before she returned to Skywood Sierra, everything came crashing down on Dakota. She no longer had the "perfect friends", or "perfect boyfriend", in fact, Dakota was pretty much alone. And miserable. She thought nothing else could go wrong - until she returns at the beginning of the year and discovers she has been placed in the boy's dormitory. Not only that, but her new roomie is the notorious bad-boy heartbreaker; Parker Claymoore.

Not His

Haley Parker wanted nothing to do with guys - at least none of the guys her parents were always trying to set her up with. She was tired of the whole charade - the countless schemes, moving all the time, saying goodbye to friends and life as she and her brother Dustin knew it - everything. It's no wonder she's not expecting much as she's moving yet again to a new place in Boston. However, turning 18 and independent in under a year, Haley's parents are running out of time to get her engaged (more like betrothed) to a guy of their approval. Not ready to give up yet, they hatch a plan to get her married to the seemingly perfect James Kacey who lives a few houses down. Meanwhile, Haley is only making enemies for her hit list at her new high school - Griffin Johnson, typical arrogant bad boy who wanted the whole school to love him, easily scoring #1 on that list. But as much as these two claimed to hate each other, would they be able to put aside their differences and actually become friends? More importantly, will Griffin be able to save Haley from her most unwilling betrothal to James? A short story. [Editing. I eventually plan to publish a more fleshed out version of this story, along with fixing a few mistakes I made.]
