What is a promise? It is an assurance of something. People always make promises. Some are kept, some are broken. Some are made and some promises happen without verbally saying it out. They just happen. Why? There can be many reasons. Mine was different. Terrifying, if you'd want to say. Because even if I wanted to, I couldn't break it. Even if breaking it was the right thing to do, I couldn't. I can't let him suffer even if it isn't fair. I can't let him suffer.

Until there's someone in my life, for whose justice, I'd have to do it. I'd have to break the promise. I can't let the promise and the person I made it to, live freely just for the sake of its past and the love I have for him. Because the person in front of me needs his justice. I can't always go against all odds for him when clearly, he is at fault and should get what he deserves.

But why couldn't I do it? What was I afraid of? Losing the only people I love? Or lose the only people who love me?
