Born with scales and the ability to breathe fire, Mo spent all her life being bullied and ridiculed. For in the Kingdom of Kreatier her kind are not welcome: Half-breeds or as they are better known, Vuruks. But when she loses her family to a curse she must acquire the assistance of the the King's highest mage. This leads her into the company of a king's guard, a flirtatious knight, named Philip who promises his help but at the cost of her also joining the guard. From a country bumpkin to the king's trusted guard, Mo never once thought it would be easy, but her plans take an unexpected turn when the king is met with a rebellion which forces her to fulfill her oath, lay down her life for the king and defend his majesty against all those who oppose him, including her very own kind. Can she make a choice for the greater good of Kreatier and still save her family?
