Every living being knows about - and fears - the fae. And yet each year their is a clamor for invitations to the Mystic Ball (better known to humans as the Fae Ball). The ball has a dark tradition - every year, two unlucky souls are chosen in a lottery to be spirited away into the world of the fae, and are never heard from again.

Lady Jade Price has never enjoyed the ball. Being the daughter of the highest-ranking human alive, Lord Evan Price, she's always had an invitation. Her father is second only to the fae, and Jade has never imagined that the lottery would choose her - she thought she was exempt, untouchable...until she isn't.
