Dean and Castiel meet at an anime convention...nothing is the same again...This one, means a lot to be. Because its my story...It actually happed. Instead of Dean, it was me. Instead of Cas it was my Annalise. We really did meet at a con in JAckson, Mississippi and fall for each other. We cosplayed as Cas and Dean instead of them as us. The only past that is fiction is when they(we) kiss, because I didn't do it. I kept walking. I let myself get drug away. I was a coward.

[Now With Photos!] Who are you? No, I don't mean your character. Who are you? I wonder this question every time I go to a con. I try to find a quiet spot and people watch. And my eyes are always drawn to the cosplayers: the young, the old, the experienced, the store-bought newbies, everybody. But even as I pose and smile, as the flash goes off, I wonder, who is this person? This person standing next to me, who has devoted so much time and so much more money to becoming this character? What is it about you, yes you, that compels you to travel, sometimes very far distances, to a con and give up an entire weekend to pretend to be someone you are not? It took me a couple of years to get the guts to start actually asking these questions. When I did, I wasn't disappointed. And that's where Masks Off came from. "Was there something you wanted to say?" I nodded my head as he tore the tape from my mouth. I had to bite my tongue to stop from hissing in pain, readjusting my jaw as it felt stiff. When I looked up - he was staring at me, his eyes shifting down from my eyes just a few times. His face was close to mine, nose touching nose. "Cas" my voice had cracked, tears making their way back as we leaned in, my lips touch his. They were soft and so... Soft. I could feel sparks of electricity running through me as my lips stung. We pulled away, our eyes stuck on each others. I thought he was going to spare me but when I saw him lift his hand with the sword in it, I knew he wouldn't. The last words I heard him speak was "I'm sorry" before he sliced my throat, darkness closing in. A couple sits in the far corner all cozied up. An elderly man and woman sit just a few tables away from me and Sarah. I longed for love like that, but it's not best for me to get into a relationship after all I've been through. Roommates
Dean's about to start medical school and he has been assigned a dorm room. With a roommate. As he and Sam head up to his new room he gets an ominous warning from the guy down the hall about Dean's new roommate. It unnerves Sam, but Dean thinks the guy can't be that bad. Right? Dean and Sam grew up happy with BOTH parents in this one. I thought about how to approach this one for quite a while before I actually started writing it. I thought, how can I get this to make sense? Why would a roommate run away? And then this came to me. So, for those of you that don't know, I based a lot of Cas' personality, quirks, and traits on myself since I have Asperger's. While I don't color coordinate my shirts in the closet, they DO have to all face the same direction, and I have more sensory issues than I'll bore you with here. I mention Dean's sensory issues as well here. While he doesn't show actual traits of Asperger's, he's on the spectrum too, and people on the spectrum still have related issues. The bluntness of Cas' questions are something that I did more often when I was younger, and a reason why people singled me out as weird or a freak. I had great difficulty distinguishing between when people were joking and making fun of me (therefore people thought I was stupid, and I was called as much, despite my higher IQ), so I tended to keep to myself. I still have difficulty initiating conversations, and my reaction to going into places like the party that will be mentioned here is much the same as I made Cas react. Lots of overdoing. Castiel Novak was a 22 years old bass guitarist in a band called "Kings Of Purgatory" with his best friends Dean, Gabe and Benny. Cas and Dean are seniors in high school and they've been best friends since they were five years old. They know everything about one another, or so Dean thought. The one thing he didn't know was that Cas was gay. The other he didn't know was that Cas was completely and totally in love with him. Oblivious, Dean launches into a new relationship with a girl he meets at the mall one afternoon, and it tears Cas apart seeing Dean with her, especially when it looks like for the first time in his life, Dean is getting serious about a girl. Charlie, being the good friend she is throws a party and invites Cas. There's an interesting guy there that catches Cas' eye. Sweet fluff ensues, and it's soon after that Dean learns Cas' biggest secret. He is also faced with emotions he has never felt before, especially in regards to Cas. He finds himself jealous and angry when he sees Cas with Luke, and at his brother's suggestion he decides to confront his true feelings for his best friend, and tell him how he really feels.
