She was a singer. He was a painter. Both were artists...

Elle.

That was the name the world knew her by. But that was not really her name, and no one knew who she really was, except for the fact that she was a well known singer and songwriter.

At twenty, Michelle left the small town she knew, wanting more for herself and to explore more outside of the small town of Maven she grew up in. By twenty one, she was known as the new and upcoming R&B artist from her first self-released debut.

Over the years she traveled from place to place for all her performances. By the time she was able to take a break from her overwhelming life as a musician, she realized that she was able to keep her past behind her. But, it was now four years since she left Maven, Virginia, and an unexpected text from her mother changed that all.

She found out her sister was getting married and that she needed to be there. Going back to her hometown four years later she was sure to get an earful from her family for her abrupt disappearance.

But, that wouldn't be all she'd have to explain...

"Ahhh!!!" The man's body falls to the floor limp and I fall to the floor out of terror, "Why are you screaming? I saved you from being raped." I look at the man who is holding a gun with a little smile on his face. He holds the gun up to my head and I start crying, "P-Please, p-please don't do this. I-I won't tell anybody." He bends down and I whimper, "I don't think I can let you go. What happened you run and tell in the next three days? You've already seen my face and heard my voice." I shake my head, "I swear I won't tell anybody! I-I don't know anybody!" He looks at me up and down, "I'll give you two choices. I kill you now or you come with me. You can keep me entertained for a while." €€€€€€€€€€€€€€€€€€€€€€€€€€€€€€€€€€€€€€€€€€€€€€€ Lyric Dime is a twenty-one year old loner who works in a top tier casino. "You've become so damaged that when someone tries to give you what you deserve, you have no idea how to respond." He says taking a step closer to me. I frown. "So, it's my fault? That I'm to blame for being damaged?" "No, it's not your fault at all, but it is your fault for believing you don't deserve better. That you don't deserve to be happy." Nathan looks away from my eyes, inhaling. "Maybe the little things that you consider your weakness are actually the things that people treasure most about you. Maybe you hate that you care too much...or that you wear your heart on your sleeve. But seriously, some people think that's the best damn thing about you. We all have different little things that make up who we are, we don't need to change those things, but we can choose who we share them with." "What are you saying?" Now so close to me, he places his palm on my cheek, and whispers. "You're treasure, Madison...I hope you realize that." ________ Nathan Lane a Billionaire heartthrob who has everything in his life. Money, fame and power. Except he keeps some secrets of his own. This persona he puts on for the world to see is not what he truly wants. Now she has to pick herself up from the ashes, but she doesn't believe she deserves forgiveness. She doesn't know what to do, until she meets Nathan Lane in a very not so sober way. "You're my hero, Superwoman," he said, his voice rough like gravel - like he wasn't used to saying anything soft. I smiled, his gaze steady as I tied the last strip of the bandage around his shoulder. "How come my superpowers don't work on you and me?" I asked, quietly, like it wasn't already eating me alive. He didn't flinch. "Maybe they don't work on people who already belong to you." His callused hand brushed my cheek. My chest ached. "Sukhala mama, ungowami wena." And the tears came. Because I'd asked him to fake love me. And now I didn't know where the lie ended and the truth began. He said "mama." inqondo yagoloza, intliziyo yavuma. (my brain said no, but my heart said yes) Ngewami Mamba is a force-an award-winning gynecologist, tech mogul, and humanitarian with a passport full of stamps and a bank account in pounds, not rands. She's the woman every man wants and every woman envies. But when her younger sister announces an unexpected engagement, Ngewami's perfectly curated world tilts off its axis. She was supposed to be first. The wife. The bride. The standard. Now, with the spotlight slipping and her ego bruised, Ngewami will stop at nothing to beat her sister to the altar-even if it means faking a relationship with the one kind of man she's always sworn off: A Zulu man. Sharp-tongued, emotionally armored, and unapologetically ambitious, Ngewami isn't looking for love-she's looking for a win. But love has a twisted sense of humor. And it just might be written in bold, bloody Zulu.

Love is just a word until someone comes along and gives it a memory... You know you're in love when you can say anything to the person and you know they won't laugh at you. When you can see their face when you close your eyes. When you can still feel their arms around you holding you tight after they're gone. When you can still taste their kiss after you have said goodbye. You can tell you're in love when you miss them before they're gone. When their voice lingers in your ears. When their presence eases any pain. When their name sends chills down your spin. When they're the only thing you can think about. You know you're in love when you can see all their hopes and dreams and their soul when you look into their eyes. When they call you at four in the morning to say, "I Love You" and mean it. When your tears stain not only their shirt, but also their heart. When even a simple chore done with them can become a lasting memory. Ultimately, you know you're in love when you can't imagine living without them and can't figure how did you live before you knew them. When they fulfill every need and without them you're incomplete. The love of someone else completes the heart, and sound and mind all at once. 𝐝𝐞𝐜𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝟓, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟎-𝐟𝐞𝐛𝐫𝐮𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝟏𝟎, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟏
