Book 1 of 'The Last Fantasy' duology

A malicious empire, whose power surpasses all kingdoms in the world, rules the world with military terror and the secrets of magic. The story follows an amnesiac young woman named Terra, and the people that she encounters after being freed as a war slave of the empire. Working with rebels, defecting soldiers, and a wide variety of warn-torn citizens, she battles the empire using magic of her own . However, one of the empire's own generals takes the power for himself, and the world falls into the ultimate peril. The group must then battle to realign the balance of the world while also discovering who and what Terra really is.
