When I got home, I had this sense of urgency overtaking me. I needed to read those diary entries and I needed to read them fast. The faster I read them, the closer I could get to Eleanor and God, did I want to be close to her. I wanted to get inside her mind and see how she worked, how she felt, how she loved. I locked my door behind me and kicked off my shoes, sitting at my desk in the corner of my apartment, by a bright window. undergoing 1st round developmental edits!! When Edith, an overworked college student goes no contact with her parents, she must find a way to financially support herself while she gets her degree. She enters a writing competition in which the winner gets a book deal. When she struggles to write the violence in the slasher novel she decided to write, she turns to drastic measures for inspiration. After all, you should write what you know... a/n: hi guys!! this is an (incredibly) rough first draft of what originated as a project in my Creative Writing class. We were given the school year to write an original novella, and this is mine! I've grown really attached to the plot, but at my current writing skill, I don't think I could've properly gotten the point across in the time I was given. I'm publishing it here both to share it with my friends and to hopefully find proofreaders! I would really appreciate it if you could leave suggestions in the comments as they occur, or dm me for longer explanations! It is said that people's souls are trapped in there by spirits wandering the Grove, until eventually, they become wandering spirits as well. Hafsa and Eamon decide to defy the tales as they set to uncover the true secrets of the Grove.
