Stepney has returned to Sodor, to help out with a construction project on Thomas' Branchline where an old mine is being demolished in Maithwaite, but he is about to see something strange going on at the old mine when things go bump in the night.

But then, a black engine was pushed by the trucks into a field. I rescued him with the breakdown train, and Sir Topham Hatt awarded me with my own special coaches and my own branch line!
