When Dream first laid eyes on his soulmate, watching as the color poured into the world around him, filled with hues he wasn't allowed to see until now, until he met his predestined love, Dream was happy.

That seemed to drain, though, as his soulmate, vivid and beautiful, covered in a glow of color, tells Dream something that makes him stop dead in his tracks.
