Flight Force (Poe Dameron X Oc)

Takes place before the events of The force awakens. Kai Jenkins is a Resistance Captain/ Jedi in training before The New Jedi order is destroyed and her life is changed forever.

"Black Leader, do you copy?!" I yell through the microphone in my helmet. Chaos is ensuing all around me and I am frantically moving my head to search for the familiar black x-wing but the tie fighters and other rebellion fighter ships are surrounding my view and I can't find it.

A few green shots coming from an enemy fighter nearly miss my ship and blast over my head. I Quickly maneuver my ship upwards and slowdown as suddenly as I can, allowing a Tie fighter that was trailing me to shoot narrowly past my ship. I quickly target it, pressing the weapons button on my flight stick and in a matter of seconds my blasters are hitting his engines and he loses control, taking another tie fighter with him and they hit the hull of the star destroyer in a fiery explosion. I Smile brightly at the small victory before my smile falters and I huff in frustration at the failed communication attempt before, I try the radio again, this time more urgency showing through my voice and my brain makes me imagine the worst has already happened. "Black leader?! Do you copy??!" The commlink remains static for a few seconds and I flick the comms switch on my dash a few times to make sure it was still operational.

"This is black leader, Copy Gold Leader." I let out a sigh of relief.

"Thank God Poe I thought I saw you get hit."

"You can't get rid of me that easily sweetheart."
