He had no identity, no "true" face.
He could be anyone you wished him to be, or anyone you needed him to be. After all, it's his job to make you believe everything he says. It's a requirement for someone who does what he does.
Lies and deceit make up his world, and there is not a day that he doesn't see violence around him.
Usually he does his job with precise accuracy and stealth, making him one of the best and the youngest in the business.
He's efficient, quiet and skillful. If anything, his perfect record of consistently completing assignments and jobs only gave him his reputation as one of the most desired for hire. But with his high reputation, comes high demand, and in this case it's no exception. The people who pay for what he provides always have very high expectations of him, believing in that untarnished record that he has built up through years of endless brutal training.
He has never failed an assignment before. He is never meant to, and no matter what the circumstances, he's expected to complete his duties or die trying.
Yet in this place where the supernatural lurks and nothing is as it seems, he may have more problems than he originally planned for. Now, he has to put on a mask for creatures who seem to even posses magic.
His name is Gale Nothing. He's the master of trickery and lies, a young boy of many masks.
His assignment: To deceive all.
His goal: To get out of it unscathed... and breathing.
"A mask tells us more than a face." - Oscar Wilde.
Book #6 of the Blood-arc Series.
----------------------------------------
Are you real or from my dreams?
What is this place where the supernatural are,
This place where nothing is as it seems.
Am I merely daydreaming or in my own world?
How can there be such things on the land,
Like something in a fairy tale, something in a myth.
Gale Nothing, Gale Nothing.
What is this mysterious reality?
