Alina Starkov is the Sun Summoner, and being the Sun Summoner is not easy. Discovered as a child, Alina can't tell anyone what she is, not even other Grisha, without risking dire consequences. The most feared man in all of Ravka is one of a few who know the truth, and he swears to guide and protect her until she can stand on her own two feet.

Inside and outside of Little Palace walls, Alina navigates mentors, friendships, rivalries, and crushes while trying to keep a secret that will change the world.
