I looked at the Demon Lord, my eyes were barely able to focus on the girl after she completely dusted Kumoko with Abyss magic. I... I was too slow. Even after reverse engineering Sloth to make me move at relativistic speeds, I was unable to save my best friend. I was careless and overconfident, and that's what got her killed.
But as suddenly as it came, my feelings of sorrow were replaced raw unadulterated rage.
"Anger is a weapon. Let it drive you to greater heights, but don't let it consume your mind."
The words of my sensei came to mind as I forced the emotion away from my mind. No, I can't afford to be angry right now, not with what I'm about to do.

In the Butterfly mansion until they found out whether you were a demon or not after the test they had prepared had failed. And though they would never admit it, they were basically holding you hostage and waiting by to kill you off. You refused quite a bit but you apparently had no say in it. Well, you might've not liked the fact that they were currently holding you hostage to figure out whether you were actually a demon or not before killing you after figuring out that you were a demon like Sanemi so wished to do so. There wasn't, much you could do in this situation. The most efficient solution you could think of to get them to leave you alone for the rest of eternity without spilling any blood was to lay low until their suspicion of you being a demon eventually died down and they allowed you to leave yourself. However... It seemed there were quite a number of Demon slayers who greatly disapproved of your stay here, or at least they were very wary of you. the most annoying one being Sanemi Shinazugawa.
