The Honest Liar
He just stood there. Looking at me. The way I had reacted had put him in a state of shock. "I... I um," Every word I had learned from pre-school to now had just flew out of my mind and left me speechless. "I should go." I could tell he could barely hear the hurtful words I had just chocked out of my mouth, but I didn't care. Not anymore. I walked away. Fighting back tears. I drove all the way to my house and when I got there I fell against the cold wall. What had just happened? All I knew is that I wasn't able to think straight. My mind was clouded with memories of him. I shook my head trying to forget everything that was involved with him. But I wasn't able to forget. These thoughts were a part of me now. Life goes on. I'm no longer the same person as before. For what's worth, I did it all myself with no help. I'm a well-known therapist now. The hardest part is to keep my distance from my clients, but I try to hold my bearings. Children always remind me of myself in my younger years. I had been so naïve, especially with boys. Journey Of Self Love
I used to think love was all about finding someone to make you feel whole. But as the days passed, watching him laugh with his friends, I started to realize something. I was waiting for someone else to validate me, to give me the affection I craved. But the truth hit me hard-I needed to start with myself. I stopped measuring my worth by his attention, or anyone else's. I stopped seeking approval in the way I looked, the things I said, or the way I walked into a room. Slowly, I learned that the most important love was the one I could give myself. I didn't need his smile or his words to feel seen. It wasn't easy, but I started finding peace in my own reflection. I became more comfortable with who I was-flaws, mistakes, and all. I realized that I didn't need anyone to complete me. I was whole, just as I was. That why I wrote a story about my personal experience with love .
